There are many members give true philanthropy when giving to the Apple Valley Chamber of Commerce. Many quietly give, asking nothing in return. We want you to know them so you can thank these "business community leaders."
2005 Major Chamber Donations
- Enjoy! Restaurant
$7,000 via dinner for 40 people. Both $3,500 dinner packages were sold at our Grand Cabaret. Enjoy also donated a luncheon for all Chamber Presidents in the Twin Cities region. Dan and Kay Shimek also invited the Chamber into a process with the Mayor and the Superintendent of District #196, to find a way to match their personal $100,000 donation to Tsunami Relief. Nearly one-half million dollars was generated as a result of their generosity and leadership. A great majority of that money came from the students of the District. They also donated a lesser yet substantial amount to Hurricane Katrina Relief, and gave of their time and money to Special Olympics.
- Anchor Bank, Apple Valley
Donated on behalf of the Chamber, $20,000 to add to Dan & Kay Shimek's Tsunami Relief.
- Independent School District #196
More than matched Dan & Kay Shimek's $100,000 matching funds for Tsunami Relief.
- AVR (Apple Valley Readymix)
Donated 1st Year FREE RENT to the Chamber and greatly reduced rent for five years, valued at $31,200 in actual savings to the Chamber but actually worth more than twice that.
They also bought a $3,500 dinner package at our Grand Cabaret, donated by Enjoy! They gave substantial amounts of money to Tsunami, many other un-named charities and causes.
- James Barton Design Build
Donated all the labor and contractors to build a new conference room and storage room for the Chamber's new office. They took the initiative to get all the materials donated by Lampert Yards. Total project is estimated at $25,000.
- Lampert Yards
Donated all the materials for build a new $25,000 conference room for the Chamber including attractive french doors. Kendrick Electric donated all the electrical, CNH Architects provided complimentary plans and Old Tree Painting painted the offices with paints donated by Hirshfield's Paint & Wallpaper. True member teamwork!
- Pederson Ventures
Bought a $3,500 dinner package donated from Enjoy! Restaurant to the Chamber's Grand Cabaret fundraiser. The dinner was held at Enjoy's other property called Pardise Landing at Balsam Lake, WI.
- Kwik Kopy Business Center
Donated many print jobs to the Chamber including the eight-page full color Golf Tournament Programs, and donated substantial hours of computer publishing expertise to assist the Chamber during staff shortages and maternity leave. They also generously have printed the Chamber's annual reports last year and this year and the Auction Books for the Grand Cabaret at less than even their own cost. They have saved the Chamber thousands of dollars.
